At Skadi Wilderness Adventures, our priority is to ensure you enjoy the most rewarding Canadian Rockies experience possible in comfort and safety. If you have any questions that are not answered here, please contact us and we will be happy to help you.
Logistics And Gear
Meeting Place and Time
We will meet you in Nordegg at an agreed time the morning of Day 1. The usual meeting place is the Nordegg Lodge or Shunda Creek Hostel or Cheechako Cabins, where we can enjoy a coffee together while going over trip details. Parking and pre-trip accommodation is also available here.
Transportation to and from the trail’s starting point is provided by Skadi Wilderness Adventures and is included in the cost.
Please ensure you have your hiking equipment with you, as we will depart directly from here.
Accommodation and Meals
On the trip, you will stay in rustic backcountry cabins. We provide all meals and trail snacks from lunch on Day 1 to lunch on the final day of the trip. Please specify any special dietary requirements you have at time of booking so we can incorporate them into our menus. A dietary surcharge may be added to the standard.
Pre- and post-trip accommodation in Nordegg is not included. For your convenience, we can arrange accommodations in Nordegg, subject to pre-booking and availability. If combined with a booking with us Cheechako Cabins (www.cheechakocabins.com) will offer overnight pre and post trip accommodation. You are also free to make your own arrangements.
Any excess luggage you do not need on the trail may be left at your accommodation or our office in Nordegg.
Clothing and Equipment
We supply all emergency equipment and first aid kit requirements.
You will need to bring personal clothing, suitable footwear and a sleeping bag. Snowshoes and/or hiking poles may be rented from Skadi Wilderness Adventures subject to pre-booking and availability.
All necessary equipment for skill-based courses will be provided by Skadi Wilderness Adventures.
Booking Information
Conditions
For trips of three days or less, full payment must accompany booking.
For trips longer than three days, a 35 per cent deposit of the full trip cost is required. Balance of payment is due two weeks before trip start.
Full payment must accompany bookings made less than two weeks before trip start.
There is inherent risk in participating in mountain activities. Participants must sign a waiver of liability before the start of the trip.

Cancellation and Refund Policy
In the event that Skadi Wilderness Adventures cancels a trip, your full payment will be immediately refunded.
Should you need to cancel a trip the following terms will apply:
- You have 24 hours from when you make your booking to change or cancel with no charge to you (provided your trip does not depart within 14 days).
- If you cancel your trip up to four weeks before it departs, a $150 administration fee applies. If you cancel your trip less than four weeks but more than two weeks before it departs, the 35 per cent deposit is forfeited.
- If you cancel your trip less than two weeks before the trip departs or during the trip, the entire amount paid is forfeited.
- We will gladly accept a substitute guest should you not be able to attend.
Cancellations must be received in writing, by letter, fax or email. Cancellations are only effective once your written notification is received and acknowledged by Skadi Wilderness Adventures.
We ask that you thoroughly understand and consider the cancellation policy prior to booking as we make financial commitments to our guides and purchase provisions once you book and confirm a trip. We take your booking in good faith and begin incurring costs upon confirmation.

Methods of Payment
Cheque: We accept cheques in Canadian dollars made payable to:

Payments must be received no later than 14 days prior to your trip commencing. We will send you an invoice confirming the payment upon receipt and clearance of the cheque.
Credit Card: You may pay for your adventure directly online (deposit and final balance) using any major credit or debit card (MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Maestro) via PayPal. We will send you an invoicing confirming the payment.
Bank Transfer: If paying from overseas, you may get a better exchange rate by sending us a bank draft or making an Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) in your own currency. We can supply our bank details on request and, upon receipt of funds, will send you an invoice confirming the payment.
Cost per person
All trip costs include: professional guide(s), meals and accommodation, and transport to and from the trail’s starting point.
Not included: Pre- and post-trip Nordegg accommodation (if required) and 5 per cent GST (Canadian Goods and Services Tax).

Note: One-person trips (a 1:1 guide ratio) are welcome and subject to a $150 per day additional charge.
