Lunch At Moose Meadow

June 07 - 09, 2013

Day One: A gentle three- to four-hour hike/ski/snowshoe along treed cutlines and across various creek beds to arrive at the cabins. The route in may vary based on prevailing conditions but will always be taken at a gentle pace with easy terrain and new vistas around each corner. We will also use this route in to pick up information, by tracks and scat, to identify what wildlife is in the area.

Day Two: After a home-cooked breakfast, we head down the creek to arrive at Moose Meadow, a large open area with year-round water that attracts many types of wildlife. After lunch, we will wind our way back to the cabins via a series of animal trails and easy cutlines. The evenings can be spent sitting on the steps of your cabin counting the boundless stars in the night sky or listening and responding to the wolves howling in the distance.

Day Three: A leisurely breakfast will set us up for the route home via an open meadow frequented by the local wildlife. A good wildlife viewing spot will be chosen for lunch and we will have time to study, view or photograph a wide variety of Rocky Mountain flowers along the way.
